Class 120(2) In a device for conveying yarns comprising rollers 1 and 2 of different diameter having canted axes with the maximum distance between the surfaces of the rollers not exceeding the radius of roller 1, the rollers are so positioned that the projection of that portion of roller 2 which is used for conveying yarn on to the plane V passing through the axis of roller 1 and parallel with the axis of roller 2 is wholly at that side of the axis of roller 1 at which the yarn turns leaving roller 2 reach roller 1. Such relative disposition of rollers ensures, for given conditions, effective advance of the yarn from one convolution to the next (i.e. "pitch") with minimum change of pitch. Further, and as explained in a specific example, Fig. 7 (not shown), maximum pitch is obtained when q (the shortest distance between the canted axes) equals:- where p equals the shortest distance from that one of the two extremities of the axis of roller 1 which is further from the axis of roller 2, to the latter axis, and R and r are radii of rollers 1 and 2 respectively.
