Abstract
885,324. Dry-cooling coke. KOHLENSCHEIDUNGS G.m.b.H. June 5, 1958 [June 6, 1957; June 12, 1957], No. 18060/58. Class 51 (2). Plant for dry-cooling coke comprises a series of cells 4 arranged parallel to and below the coke car track 3 receiving a coke container 8 with a ridged, perforated platform 15, and a path for cooling gases including a fan 5, duct 14, the container 8, a recuperator 16, superheater section 6, and steam generator section 7. The container 8 is tilted by fluid cylinders as shown to receive coke from car 2 through doorcontrolled opening 10, and, after cooling is raised by winches 19, 20 to be discharged back into car 2 through door-controlled opening 17. In a modification, Fig. 2, the container 8 is pivotally suspended below a charging shoot 11, is raised by fluid-operated cylinders to a cooling gas inlet 57 and outlet 54, and is rotated by chains 67 to discharge into a bunker 68. The latter is discharged by rakes 32 on to a conveyer 33 and air entering past the rakes provides additional cooling for the coke. In another modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the cooling chambers are fired and discharge through counterweighted flap doors into bunkers as in the previous modification.
