Abstract

873,215. Stencil hand-stamps. SINCLAIR Ltd., HARRY. Sept. 7, 1959 [Sept. 13, 1958], No. 29386/58. Class 100(2) A stencil hand-stamp comprises a handle 11, Figs. 1 and 3, secured to a metal or plastic support 10 with turned-over lips 12 to receive a removable metal slide 13 with a tongue 14 to facilitate insertion and removal and limit the inward movement. The slide 13 has secured thereto by adhesive or clips an ink pad 15 of foamed polyurethane enclosed in a covering 16 of woven cotton fabric, to which a pre-cut stencil is applied, the ink providing adhesion to retain the stencil. Out of use, the stamp is laid on a perforated sheet metal element 19 resting on a rectangular absorbent element 18 of foamed polyurethane or felt and containing white spirit, and resting in a tray 17, the spirit vapour maintaining the ink in the pad 15 in a fluid condition. Alternatively, the element 19 may be bent to channel shape and rest on the bottom of the tray.
