[Also in Group XXIII] A dashpot for damping the movement of a windscreen wiper comprises oil filled cylinders 36 containing pistons 34 at the ends of a rack 32 reciprocated by a pinion 30 on the wiper shaft 20. The cylinders 36 are interconnected by a passage 40 containing an adjustable needle valve 42.
