871,288. Electrical equipment chassis. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. June 24, 1958 [June 24, 1957], No. 19769/57. Class 37. A rack mounted electrical unit 10 for e.g. an electronic computer is carried in a drawer comprising side-rails 11 mounted on runners 13 in the rack framework 14, the connections from the unit apparatus being made to plug members 15, which co-operate with fixed socket connectors 18 when the drawer is closed and with fixed socket connectors 17 when the drawer, having been fully drawn out is moved backwards somewhat. Socket connectors 17 and 18 have identical connectors to the remainder of the apparatus. The plug members 15 are raised above socket members 17 when the drawer is being pulled out by cam members 24 which engage brackets 26 on unit 10, tilting it about pivot bolts 21. When unit 10 is moved backwards from its fully out position, to engage connectors 15 and 17 together, brackets 26 pass beneath the overhanging forward portions of cams 24.
