Abstract
870,145. Batteries. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. Dec. 27, 1957, No. 40154/57. Class 53. An accumulator plate is made from glass or other fibres which may be woven or felted or compressed to form a mat. Each fibre is coated with metal, and the fibres are bonded together by foamed rubber latex. The metal coating may consist of iron, nickel, copper, lead, &c. which may be deposited on the fibres from the corresponding carbonyl. The plates may be flat or rolled up together as shown in Fig. 7, in which plates 32, 33 of glass fibres plated with nickel and iron respectively are enclosed in a porous resin separator and covering 35.
