Abstract

878,329. Roller bearings. SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN A.B. Oct. 3, 1958 [Oct. 5, 1957], No. 31604/58. Class 12 (1). In a cylindrical roller bearing comprising a thin cylindrical outer race ring 1, Fig. 2, guide flanges 3<SP>1</SP> at both ends of the rollers are inseparably connected to the ring 1 by permanent deformation of the ends of the ring. The rollers are retained by a cage 6 which prevents the rollers from falling out of the cage in an inward direction. In a modification, guide rings 3 and retaining rings 4 replace the guide flanges 31. The flanges 3, 31 are hardened. Alternatively, the flanges may be mounted on the inner race ring.
