Abstract

878,107. Carrier bags. BEASLEY FRENCH & CO. Ltd. May 20, 1960 [March 4, 1959], No. 7590/59. Class 133. A carrier bag 11 has a strip handle 12 attached at one end 13 to the top end of the bag near the opening on one side 14. while the free end 16 has a coating 17 of pressuresealing adhesive corresponding to a similar coating 18 or the opposite side 19 of the bag opening. After filling the bag, the handle end 16 is pressed into attachment with the side 19, see Fig. 3. In a modification, the strip handle's entire inner surface is coated with such adhesive, a paper strip being applied thereto so as to expose shaft portions of the adhesive coating at each end.
