876,344. Photo-electric curve followers. VYSKUMNY USTAV PRE MACHANIZACIU A AUTOMATIZACIU. Nov. 26, 1958 [Nov. 29, 1957, No. 38114/58. Class 40(3) In a photo-electric curve follower an mage of part of the curve # is focused on to a mirror 16 which performs oscillations over a conical surface so that the light reflected through an aperture 7 on to a photo cell beyond performs a rotating movement over the aperture. The leading edge of the impulses produced by the photo-cell is phase-shifted according to the direction of line 2. Fig. 2 shows the mirror shifting arrangement which comprises a permanent cylindrical magnet 20, a cylindrical pole extension 21 and an annular pole extension 22. The diaphragm 33 carries mirror 16 and is attached to coils 29, 31 moving in four radial slots in the pole extension 21. The coil is fed with a sine and the other a cosine waveform so that the mirror performs the conical movement.
