Abstract
876,281. Respiratory appliances. OXYGENAIRE (LONDON) Ltd. June 22, 1960 [Aug. 18, 1959], No. 28243/59. Class 81 (2). A face mask comprises a bag of flexible gas-proof sheet material, apertures in the wall of the bag, a tubular portion around at least a part of the face-engaging edge, an inlet to the tubular portion for connection to a gas supply and an outlet from the tubular portion to the interior of the bag, the outlet being smaller than the inlet so that when gas is supplied the tubular portion is inflated. As shown, Fig. 3, the edge of a bag 10 is turned in to form a tube 15 with an integral extension 16 to which gas is admitted through an inlet 17, an outlet 19 being smaller than the inlet so that when gas is supplied, the tube 15 is inflated. Another embodiment described is identical with that described with reference to Figs. 8-12 of Specification 874,856.
