Abstract
Steel to be subjected to attack by cold or hot water is given a two stage galvanizing treatment, being first dipped in a conventional bath, which may contain up to 1% of lead, and subsequently immerssed in a bath containing Al 0.1-2.5%, Si 0.01-0.05% \sB Pb -1%, Zn balance at a temperature of 410-450 DEG C. for 1-20 minutes. The steel may or may not be transferred directly from one bath to the other.
