Abstract
875,426. Conveying solids in liquids. LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT. Dec. 2, 1957 [Dec. 1, 1956], No. 37468/57. Class 102 (2). A feed device for a hydraulic conveyer comprises a hopper A for receiving the solid material surrounded by an outer vessel 7 containing pure water and having an overflow 9 controlled by a valve 8, the hopper A communicating with the vessel 7 through an adjustable opening 10 and through an opening controlled by a valve 3 with a lock chamber B which communicates with the chamber C and the pipe line through an opening controlled by a valve 15. A cylinder 4 containing a piston 4a is connected at one end to the lock chamber B and the other end is connectable to the vessel 7 or to the pressure pipe line 16. In operation the valve 15 is closed and the valve 3 opened and material is fed to the hopper A ; the piston 4a is raised in the cylinder 4 and the material is drawn into the lock chamber B while the upper end of the cylinder discharges to the vessel 7. The valve 3 is then closed and the valve 13 operated to equalise the pressure in the chambers B, C. The valve 15 is opened and the upper end of the cylinder 4 is connected to the line 16 so that the piston 4a discharges liquid to the lock chamber B and the solid material is discharged to the hydraulic line. The valves 3, 15 are hydraulically actuated.
