Abstract
861,844. Air filters. KNECHT G.m.b.H. June 29, 1959 [July 5, 1958], No. 22254/59. Class 8(2). An air filter pack suitable for use with an I.C. engine comprises two oil-wettable fibre pressings 2, 5 separated by wire gauzes 3, 4 and faced by front and rear apertured filter discs 1, 6 ; the apertures of the front disc being sc oriented as to deflect the incoming air prior to its entry into the fibre pressing 2 As shown the front disc comprises two elements la, 1b of expanded metal or twisted ribbon gauze and the rear disc 6 comprises a single element of similar construction. The pack is cleaned by washing with petrol.
