868,209. Double door fastenings. NEWMAN & SONS Ltd., WILLIAM, and SHEAD, H. C. Jan. 1, 1960 [Jan. 7, 1959], No. 582/59. Class 44. A double door fastening comprises, for one door 1, a pivoted catch member 9 angularly movable between a position in which it holds the door and a position in which the door is free, the catch member 9 being positively held in the door-holding position by a bolt 19 for the other door 2. As shown, the catch member 9 is mounted on a pivot 8 in a channel member 6 located in a bottom rail 4 of the door 1 and is movable manually against a spring device into and out of engagement with a member 10 recessed into the floor beneath the door. In the position shown, the catch member 9 is blocked by the bolt 19 of a key-operated lock secured to the bottom rail 4 of the other door 2.
