Abstract

867,827. Tyre-vulcanizing presses. BRUNOTTE & NIEMEYER MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Dec. 1, 1958 [Nov. 30, 1957], No. 38597/58. Class 87(2). The mould parts 1, 2 of a tyre press are brought close together by a toggle linkage 11, 12 which in this position abuts a stop 13 and operates a valve 22 to cause fluid to flow to cylinders 15 to actuate pistons 14 which exert the final mould closing pressure. A non- return valve 26 is provided in the supply to the cylinders 15. A split ring, one half 30 secured to one mould part and the other half 31 to the other mould part, is used to protect the operator if the tyre bursts. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the ring may be fixed to one mould half only.
