Abstract
867,214. Plate heat exchangers. MARSTON EXCELSIOR Ltd. Aug. 20, 1959 [duly 25, 1958], No. 23985/58. Class 64(3) A heat exchanger for heating the fuel of an aircraft is formed from a plurality of sets of three passageways, fuel flowing through passageways 2 in the direction of arrow A, and hot air flowing both through passageways 3 along path 11 and passageways 4 along path 14. Prior to entering the heat exchanger the hot air passes through a valve 15 which controls the air passing along path 14 so that this hot air may be used for de-icing purposes. Corrugated secondary surfaces 7 are incorporated in the passageways.
