Abstract

866,910. Platform vehicles. BRITISH TRANSPORT COMMISSION. Sept. 3, 1958 [July 27, 1957], No. 23842/57. Class 108(1). A vehicle floor has a removable centre section which exposes longitudinally arranged girders 1 on which cylindrical objects may be carried. The girders 1 are adjustable laterally by using spacers 6 between the girders and abutments at the sides of the platform. When used as a platform lorry the telescopic adjustable strut 17 and rear support 14 which are used to prevent movement of a load such as a coil of sheet metal, are stowed beneath the removabld floor section.
