Abstract

866,886. Engraving. PRECISION GRINDING Ltd. Oct. 8, 1959, No. 34103/59. Class 100(2) A cutting tool comprises a cutter and a tracing stylo rotatably interconnected whereby when the stylo is turned about its axis the cutter is also turned about its axis to vary the width of the cut. A pulley 6 on the shaft of the cutter 2 is connected by a Bowden cable 5 to a pulley 6a, of twice the diameter, on the shaft of the stylo 3, the shafts being mounted on a pantograph 1. The cable passes twice round each pulley ar.d has a pin engaging a radial hole in each pulley. By rotating the pulley 6a, the cutter can be rotated through a larger angle, to vary the width of the cut in engraving sheet metal or cutting patterns in cardboard.
