Abstract

865,167. Ventilating. SCHULTE & LESTRADEN N.V. Nov. 27, 1958 [Dec. 5, 1957], No. 38343/58. Class 137 Heating apparatus comprises an uncowled fan with blades arranged on radial supports about the axis of the fan, the blades being at an angle to the axis in an upwardly diverging, substantially frusto conical formation to cause an outwardly and downwardly directed current of air, and a heating device arranged below the fan. As shown the heating device comprises a frusto conical heating coil 3 having its narrower end adjacent the lower end of the fan 1 and coaxial therewith. The apparatus is arranged in a room to cause a rising current of air to pass between the coils of the heater, to be directed outwardly and downwardly by the fan and to return to the heater as indicated by lines 5, while cold air in the upper part of the room is drawn downwardly by the fan to circulate as indicated by lines 4 without substantial mixing of the warm and cold air streams.
