Abstract

864,910. Cable harness. GRAVINER MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd., and WILKINSON SWORD Ltd. Aug. 25, 1959 [Aug. 29, 1958], No. 27752/58. Class 36. A flexible connector comprises a flexible conductor 12 supported solely by ceramic beads 13, 14 within a flexible metallic sheath 10, which is provided with braiding 11, couplings being provided at each end for making electrical connection to the conductor. Each fitting comprises a pin 15, to which the conductor is connected, bonded to a ceramic insulator 16 which in turn is bonded to a metal sleeve 18 having a flange 18a which supports the insulator in a metal socket 19. The socket 19 is welded to a metal sleeve 20 the other end of which is bonded to the metal sheath 10. The sleeve 20 accommodates some of the ceramic beads and has a flange 21 with a bell mouth 21a within which the braid 1.1 is secured. A threaded coupling nut 22 is provided for engaging the socket with a co-operating member (not shown), a seal being provided by the " S " washer 24.
