Abstract

A sanitary napkin is made from an absorbent pad completely enclosed in a wrapper of cellulose wadding, of equal length with the pad, and the layers are sealed together at the ends. The wrapper is itself absorbent but is rendered moisture-resistant, as by impregnation with a synthetic resin, and sealing of the ends may be done by compressing and crimping the layers together. The construction prevents the escape of loose material from the inner absorbent pad.
