Abstract

853,154. Roller mills. SIMON Ltd., H. Aug. 11,.1959 [Aug. 22, 1958], No. 27027/58. Class 59 A roller mill comprises a scraper g.for removing ground material adhering to a grinding roller and a diverter h which is so arranged that the ground material removed by the scraper is diverted towards the nip of the grinding rollers while the current of air resulting from the removal by the scraper of the moving layer of air entrained by the roller surface is diverted away from the nip of the grinding rollers. The diverter is carried in cheeks k, Fig. 3, at the ends of the scraper, each cheek having a pivot pin extension m which extends through a side wall n of the mill where it has secured thereon a slotted quadrant o which, and thus the scraper and diverter, is secured in the desired angular position by means of a screw p and wing nut g. A scraper and diverter may be provided for one, or each, roller of a pair of grinding rollers. The scraper may be in the form of a brush. Specification 811,371 is referred to.
