Abstract

850,979. Securing turbine and compressor rotor blades. SZYDLOWSKI, J. Nov. 19, 1957 [Nov. 27, 1956], No. 36049/57. Class 110 (3). The invention relates to an arrangement for preventing endwise movement of turbine or compressor rotor blades mounted in axiallyextending slots formed at the periphery of the rotor disc. The blade-mounting slots are formed with serrations 3 also with a groove 4 which provides a passage beneath the blade root 5. A pair of flat locking members 6 each formed with a bent head portion 7 is entered into the passage 4, the head portions 7 of the two members extending in opposite directions and a washer 8 being disposed between the head portions and the adjacent surfaces of the blade root and rotor disc. A second washer 8 is inserted on the opposite ends of the locking members which are then bent in opposite directions thereby locking the blade against endwise movement. Locking keys may alternatively be of semi-circular section with their flat sides abutting.
