Abstract
859,712. Forage harvesters. HARRISON, McGREGOR & GUEST Ltd. April 20, 1959 [April 11, 1958], No. 11481/58. Class 6(3). [Also in Group XXX] In a forage harvesting machine of the type having a shrouded power-driven shaft 12 on which are universally mounted flails 19 adapted to cut and reduce vegetation and project it through a delivery conduit 21 into a vehicle, a hopper 24 is fitted above an opening in the shroud through which material is fed when the machine is stationary and projected to the top of a silo. Tines 26 on a power-driven shaft 25 prevent clogging of the hopper and a baffle plate 29 regulates the discharge into the machine. The lower front edge of the shroud 18 carries an angularly adjustable shear plate 20.
