Class 100(1) A web splicing apparatus comprises an endless driven conveyer 7 extending the full width of an expiring web W and movable longitudinally in the direction of web feed and bearings for a roller 6 in co-operative relation to the belt, the arrangement being such that upon the leading end of the replacement web W 1 dropping on to the surface of the conveyer 7 the end is carried along and fed between the conveyer 7 and roller 6 so as to be spliced to the web W. An adhesive i applicator 10 for applying adhesive to the expiring web W and a knife 11 for severing the expiring web are provided.
