Abstract

Uranium is separated from mixture with plutonium by treating the metals or dry compounds of the metals with bromine trifluoride or chlorine trifluoride in the presence of a compound of arsenic, antimony, or bismuth, preferably the oxide or fluoride, whereby uranium is converted into the hexafluoride, the vapour of which is caused to pass off and is collected.
