843,878. Gas-liquid contact columns. BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V., DE. March 20, 1958 [March 22, 1957], No. 8965/58. Class 55 (2). A bubble-cap tray for a gas-liquid contact column comprises a number of tray sections which are supported by a support-ring (not shown) secured to the column and one or more cross-beams 3, the edges of the sections being provided with inwardly- or outwardly-projecting L-shaped flanges which are fitted together as shown, sealing material being clamped between those parts of each pair of flanges lying parallel to the surface of the tray. The clamping of the sealing material and the flanges may be effected by bolts passing through both the surface of the tray section and the parts of the flanges lying parallel thereto.
