Abstract

842,075. Electrostatic precipitation. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A. G. Jan. 15, 1959 [Feb. 27, 1958], No. 1571/59. Class 39(1). A corona producing discharge electrode is made of two pieces of wire. The main piece is the long strand D which has the other piece wound round it in a half hitch so that one end forms the discharge point S1 and the other end is wrapped round the main wire in the region of a clip E which holds it in place. Alternatively, the other end of the wire may be wound round again to form a further discharge tip S 2 . The main discharge electrode wire inferably has an angular crosssection. Specification 418,403 and U.S.A. Specification 2,352,651 are referred to.
