840,038. Agricultural implements. LANG, A. Dec. 10, 1956 [Dec. 16, 1955; April 13, 1956; April 19, 1956], No. 37606/56. Classes 6(1) and 6(3). Tools for manure spreading, fertilizer distribution, harrowing, earth levelling, grass mowing, haymaking and for cutting potato tops are mounted in separate exchangeable rings 6 secured to a rotatably mounted wheel flange 5 driven from a tractor power shaft. As shown the flange 5 forms part of a conical cover 4 rotated by gearing in a box 3 which is pivotally arranged in a stirrup 8 coupled to a tractor towbar 9. The cover 4 may be tilted in a fore-and-aft direction by means of a screwed spindle 15, bell crank lever 17 and link 19. The cover 4 is supported by one or two wheels 2 mounted on a freely rotatable spindle 1 vertically adjustable by means of hand crank 14. A baffle plate 22 is mounted on guide rod 26 which is vertically adjustable on the stirrup 8. As shown in Fig. 24, the stirrup 8 is detachably connected to a cross-beam 56 provided with two landwheels 62<SP>1</SP>, 62<SP>11</SP>. In a modification a seat is provided on the stirrup 8 and the stirrup is connected by a universal joint to a two-wheeled tractor. As shown in Fig. 1, the ring 6 is provided with spring teeth 7 for spreading manure, the baffle plate 22 acting to break up the manure thrown against it by means of the teeth 7. For fertiliser distribution material is fed into the cover 4 and is distributed by blades mounted in a ring 6. Triangular teeth are mounted in a ring 6 for use in grass cutting. For cutting potato tops spiked teeth are mounted on a ring 6 and stationary members are fitted on the machine for raising the tops prior to cutting. Swaths of hay or green fodder may be formed by providing thin teeth on a ring 6 and a plate for limiting the scattering of the crop. A toothed wheel may be mounted at one side by means of an arm attached to the stirrup 8 to feed material to the ring 6, the wheel rotating by contact with the ground. For protection against the rotating teeth a circular guard may be provided and attached to the stirrup 8.
