Abstract

A corrugated border strip made according to the method of the parent Specification is bonded to a length of conveyer belting by applying layers of fabric to the matching surfaces of the strip and belting respectively before these are vulcanised, and then, after corrugating and vulcanising the border strip as in the parent Specification and also vulcanising the belting, these members are adhesively bonded together at their fabric layers. Alternatively the belting may be prepared by exposure of its fabric which is effected by stripping portions of the rubber cover from the vulcanised belting, or by blanking off a suitable width of the belting prior to vulcanisation by a strip of paper or steel or other suitable means so as to leave clear a layer of the belting fabric. In a similar way flights or chevrons may be attached to the belting.
