849,407. Overshoes; wearing-apparel; hoods. ALEXANDER. H. April 10, 1959, No. 12200/59. Classes 17(2). 63 and 141 [Also in Groups VII and XVII] An overshoe, hood, rain-cape, raincoat, apron, pinafore, glove or mitten is made by providing superposed layers of flexible thermoplastic material with tear-welds by means of a heated contour electrode so as to form the article with integral tying elements for securing it on the wearer. The superposed layers may be formed from a folded sheet or sheets or from a folded tube or tubes. As shown, the electrode makes tear-welds along lines 3, 4 and 6 so as to form a hood with integral tying tapes 5 and 7. Each of the tying tapes may have a cord or other flexible reinforcement threaded therethrough before or after tear-welding.
