Abstract

848,215. Respiratory appliances. AIRMED Ltd. Feb. 26, 1958 [March 5, 1957]. No. 7279/57. Class 81(2). A face mask has both inwardly and outwardly directed seals for engaging around the nose and mouth of a patient, so as to be effective for both positive and negative pressures. In the form shown the cup-shaped mask 1 is of rubber and has a peripheral seating edge 2 and an inwardly directed continuous rib 4. Both sealing edges are shaped to fit closely around the nose and mouth of the patient. The mask is shown as having a grommet 6, for a supply pipe, and a harness clip 8.
