Abstract

845,536. Universal joints. CHADZI, S. Dec. 27, 1956 [Dec. 28, 1955], No. 39307/56. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXI] Drive is transmitted to a vehicle axle from the hollow armature shaft 1 of an electric motor through a cardan shaft 7 having universal joints 6, 11, and one of the universal joints 6 is connected by splines 5 or the like permitting axial sliding movement, to a cup-shaped member 2, 3, 4 rigidly connected to the hollow shaft 1. A cover 8 has an integral stub shaft 9 forming one of the journals for the shaft 1. A flexible collar 10 acts as an oil seal.
