Abstract

844,203. Compressed air brakes. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Sept. 25, 1958, No. 30744/58. Class 103 (1). A compressed - air servo - brake arrangement comprises an air compressor 11 and a brake cylinder 22, by which wheel brakes are operated, at least indirectly, there being a plurality of, preferably two, main compressed-air systems, which are independent of each other but are connected in parallel with each other with respect to the compressor, and which each have a compressed-air reservoir 14 and 15, and a compressed air control valve 20 and 21, which valves are operated together and simultaneously by means of a linkage, pistons 46 and 47 disposed, one behind the other, on a common piston-rod in the brake cylinder, being associated with respective systems. Such an arrangement is intended to provide two systems which are fully independent of one another.
