833,539. Chimneys; chimney flashings. CONNOLLY, M. May 27, 1958 [May 25, 1957], No. 16649/57. Class 25 A chimney flashing 10, Fig. 2, consists of a flat piece of sheet metal, Fig. 4, having a pair of spaced-apart Z-sectioned folds, 12, 19, and 11, 18, terminating at a distance from an edge 14 to provide, between the fold ends and the edge, a flashing portion 30 which is at an angle to the plane of the remainder 31 of the flashing, such portion being adapted in use to lie flat against the chimney bricks. To complete assembly of the flashing the sheet metal former has folds 21, 27, 24, 25, 20, 26. For a flashing having an acute angle between the parts 30, 31, the former has two Z-sectioned folds 12, 19, 39, 41, Fig. 5, or 11, 18, 38, 40, at either side of the folds 27, 25, 24, 26 surrounding the portion 30, folds 21, 20, joining the apexes of the Z-sectioned folds.
