Abstract
831,814. Four-stroke engines; cylinders. SAIJO. G. Feb. 27, 1958, No. 6402/58. Class 7(2) Cylinders 16 mounted in an output rotor 10 and urged by springs 30 sealingly to engage via quadrantal sleeve portions 28 a stationary casing 12 have pistons coupled to crankshafts 27 fast with gears 40 meshing a stationary gear 42. Diametrically opposed inlet passages 44, sparking plugs 49 and exhaust passages 46 are provided, each cylinder completing two power cycles for each rotor revolution. Compression ignition may be used, but as shown there are carburetters 50. The shafts 27 pass through respective rotor side walls to carry the gears 40 and flywheels (not shown).
