837,615. Electric measuring systems. TELEGRAPH CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE CO. Ltd. Nov. 18, 1957 [Nov. 21, 1956], No. 35585/56. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XIX] Apparatus for indicating the tension in a cable C comprises a beam 6 mounted for rocking movements about a fulcrum 3, a sheave 10 over which the cable is passed, counterbalancing means 11 on the beam on the side opposite to the sheave 10 and an electrically-operated load cell 21 for indicating the angular displacement of the beam 6. The cell 21 may be of the type described in Specification 628,206. An electric receiver 33, possibly of the " selsyn " type, records the number of revolutions of the sheave 10.
