Abstract
837,336. Electric light fittings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 13, 1958 [Oct. 14, 1957], No. 32073/57. Classes 75(2) and 75(4) In an electric lighting fitting incorporating a hollow body member arranged to house one or more lamps, especially for mounting on a bulkhead or similar support, the lampholder(s) is mounted on a reflector and the body member has retaining means to hold this in place by the spring action of the reflector or the retaining means. In the form shown, the fitting comprises a box 1 with a light transmissive cover 26 and a reflector 3 of mild steel or aluminium carrying a lamp-holder 4. A metal strip 7 is provided at each end of the box and has its end 9 turned inwards at right angles and terminating in three lugs 10, 11, the lug 11 being bent upwards at an angle to the plane! of the strip and the tip turned downwards at 90 degrees. The reflector 3 has a flat base 15 with upturned edges 17, 18 having outwardly turned extremities 13 which engage between the lugs 10, 11 The lampholder is carried on one of the upturned edges 18. The sides of the reflector may also be turned upwards. The cover 26 is held in place against a rubber bead 27 by screws 28 and may be ribbed or fluted on the inner surface.
