Abstract
837,020. Telescopic joints. NORMAN, C. G., and BRIDGES, B. S. Feb. 19, 1958 [Feb. 20, 1957], No. 5734/57. Class 99(1). In a joint for telescopic tubes comprising an outer tube 10 screw-threaded to receive a nut 14 provided with an internal annular recess 16 having a bevelled face 17, an inner tube 11, and a split ring 18 surrounding the tube 11 and located between the face 17 and the end of the tube 10, the ring consists of an incomplete coil of round wire ; the coil may be divided into segments. According to the Provisional Specification, the ring may be of triangular or trapezoidal cross-section.
