823,875. Securing brake discs on shafts. KLAUE, H. Feb. 26, 1957 [March 3, 1956], No. 6460/57. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXXIV] In a means of securing a brake disc 4 on the rear axle shaft 3 of a tractor, the brake disc is permitted axial movement along the shaft. A brake actuating ring 20 is rotated so that balls 11 roll up inclined recesses in an axially movable pressure-plate 8 thereby forced into frictional engagement with one side of the brake disc 4, which is then engaged with a brake housing 7. Fig. 7 illustrates an alternative construction applied to a vehicle wheel, in which a brake disc 38 provided with brake linings 37 is mounted for free axial movement on cylindrical extensions of wheel studs 34 which connect the wheel disc 32 to the wheel hub.
