Class 64(1) Steam or hot water from an electric or fuel-fired boiler a or from a district heating system is passed through a coil i to heat a domestic water supply tank h after passing at a higher level, through an air-heater b of a space-heating system. There may be thermostatic control of the flow of the hot fluid to the air-heater b and of an electric fan f which passes the air from the atmosphere to rooms to be heated. When the arrangement is applied in a block of flats, the boiler a has a closed circulating loop to which a number of airheaters b are connected in parallel, Fig. 2 (not shown), one for each flat and each with its own pump, for the hot fluid, driven by the fan motor. There is a common supply tank h, for all the flats, connected in the return side of the loop, The Provisional Specification describes also a system in which the rate of combustion in the boiler is thermostatically controlled, or in which the source of hot fluid is a central heating system and in which the air-heater includes tubes for the hot fluid.
