Abstract

828,178. Soldering. ULTRA ELECTRIC Ltd. June 4, 1958 [Aug. 1, 1957], No. 24435/57. Class 83 (4). In a dip soldering machine comprising a solder bath 1, a trolley 3 and a ramped track 2 on which the trolley can travel, the trolley is adapted to carry a printed wiring board 4 and the track is shaped to guide the board at an angle to the horizontal into the solder in the bath and at an angle to the horizontal out of the bath. The trolley has wheels 5, 51 and is propelled in the direction of the arrow 6 by chains &c. (not shown) along the track whose down-going ramp has a greater inclination, # 1 , to the horizontal than that, # 2 , of the up-going ramp. The length of the horizontal portion of the track is no longer than the distance between the trolley wheels. The solder bath is heated.
