Abstract

827,859. Hydraulic accumulators. MERCIER, J. March 14, 1956 [March 14, 1955], No. 8012/56. Class 69 (2). To ensure that a bladder in an accumulator does not rub against the side wall of the casing or form sharp folds the lower end of the bladder is secured to a member arranged axially of the casing. The accumulator has a port 103 connected to a supply of compressed gas and a port 111 through which oil can flow into and out of the accumulator. The top of the bladder is clamped between a plug 94 and the casing 91, the lower end being connected to valve means 116, 121 sliding in a member 109 welded to the casing. A spring 138 connects the plug 94 to the lower end of the bladder and when the oil is forced from the casing the gas expands and stretches the spring sufficiently to close the valve and prevent extrusion of the bladder.
