827,277. Tyre presses. ZANGL, K. April 25, 1958 [April 26, 1957], No. 13245/58. Class 87(2). In a tyre press having arcuate members 2 b, 2c hinged to a fixed arcuate member 2a, the arc lengths AB, AC are each shorter than the arc length BC. It is stated that this arrangement allows the members 2b, 2c to move without damaging the tyre. The members 2b, 2c are screwed to shackles 13 pivoted at 3, the free ends of the shackles abutting stops 15 to limit the outward movement of the members. The planes separating the hinged and fixed members may or may not pass through the centre of the press. The arcuate members have removable tread pattern inserts.
