[Also in Group XXXVI] A resistance strain gauge comprises a rubber tube 1 filled with a powdered conducting material, e.g. carbon, gold, tungsten or small particles of rubber coated with a conductive layer, a metallic plug 3 being added at each end. The conductive filling 2 may be mixed with free carbon particles, or talc, or silicone treated materials to enhance the free flowing properties.
