Abstract
Structures, e.g. fibres, fabrics, foils or bristles, of linear aromatic polyesters are dyed with a dyestuff of the formula <FORM:0812109/IV (c)/1> wherein X represents oxygen, sulphur or a carbonyl group and R represents hydrogen or an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group. One or both benzene rings can be substituted by halogen atoms or alkyl, alkoxy or nitro groups. Dyeing may be effected with the dyestuff in aqueous dispersion or in solution in an organic solvent, such as acetone, at temperatures up to or above 100 DEG C. Examples are given. Specifications 676,857, [Group IV (b)], and 777,389 are referred to.
