Abstract

810,384. Magnetic amplifiers. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.U Oct. 28, 1955 [Oct. 30, 1954], No. 30886/55. Class 40 (9). An auto-self-excited transductor has a common control and feedback circuit in which a rectifier 29 is biased by the control voltage 30, the circuit providing a negative feedback current path through each transductor main winding 25, 26 during their respective quiescent periods. In each operating cycle, the period during which load current flows through a main winding depends on the initial magnetic state of the associated core as established by the demagnetizing feedback current, the duration of this reverse current being determined by the control voltage bias of the rectifier 29. The arrangement may be applied to an auto-selfexcited parallel transductor, Fig. 4, supplying a load 31, or to an auto-self-excited bridge rectifying transductor, Fig. 5, in which the rectifier 29 is biased in a forward direction by a voltage source 34. In an auto-self-excited transductor, Fig. 6, supplying a D.C. load 31 from a threephase supply and comprising main windings 24- 26 and self-excitation rectifiers 23, 27, 28, the feedback circuit consists of rectifiers 35-37 and the D.C. controllling voltage 30. The control voltage may be provided by a generator, amplidyne, metadyne or tachometer generator and may be combined with an alternating voltage applied by way of a transformer or generator.
