Abstract

810,237. Key-operated switches. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Sept. 6, 1957 [Sept. 6, 1956], No. 27342/56. Class 38 (5). A lever-operated switch has a longitudinal blade spring 7 which both urges the lever 2 to its normal position and guides the lever at a point distant from its pivot axis 3. Thus as shown the spring 7 is attached by a screw to a boss 5c on the base member 5 and a slot 7a in the spring guides a projection 2a on the lever. The fixed contacts 9a are mounted on a board 9 whose lower end is positioned by an extension 7b of the spring and the moving contacts 10a are mounted on a board 10 having ribs guided in notches in the spring extension so that by removal of the holding screw and the spring both sets of contacts are released. In another form, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the switch has a curved lever which is guided at its outer end by a slot in a bent blade spring. Part of the lever projects through a clearance slot in the spring.
