819,459. Anti-skid chains. PETERSEN, R. N. July 15, 1957, No. 22375/57. Class 144(2). An anti-skid chain for a tractor tyre comprises tread plates 1 which are interconnected by chains 3 or links along the sides of the tyres and have welded ground-engaging flanges 4 bent to an obtuse angle, the bisector of which lies longitudinally of the chain. The flanges 4 are preferably arranged so that the vertex of each V-shaped imprint points in a direction opposite to that of the travel. Pairs of tread plates 1 may be interconnected by integral bent flanges 2.
