Abstract

819,047. Roofs; skylights. PEDLEY, F. Dec. 31, 1957 [Jan. 1, 1957], No. 8/57. Classes 20(3) and 20(4) In a roof construction, inner and outer, corrugated, roofing sheets A, B preferably of translucent synthetic plastic, are spaced apart by a sheet G of insulating material, such as fibre glass, and secured in position by corrugated spacing members S. The latter comprise a base a which rests on the sheets A and at least one head strip b and spacing arm s to engage the sheets B; the sheets A, sheet G and the members S are secured by purlins P by bolts J, and the sheets B are secured to the members S by rivets R passing through the strip b. As shown, the sheets A, B are of moulded, fibre glass reinforced, polyester resin and secured respectively to the purlins and members by J-bolts and pop rivets. One end of a sheet A and/or a sheet B and adjacent the eaves of the roof is formed flat and at an angle to the remainder of the sheet and is secured to the wall of a building by nails and/or bolts. At the ridge, flat portions of the sheets on one side of the roof seat on angled portions of the sheets on the opposite side of the roof.
